What's your reason why? What's your passion? What's your meaning?
I ask myself these questions all the time. But it's easy for me to get lost in the trivialities of life and stuck in routine day in and day out. I like to think of these questions as prompts to expand, "zoom out", and consider my big picture.
Let's discuss daily life before we get into “big picture" thinking. You can ask yourself the above questions in every unique moment every day of your life. You can find hundreds of meanings and find little passions even before breakfast. Maybe you're passionate about cooking and you found a great new egg recipe- that's incorporating your passions into the "little things" in life which are so important. The "little things" ultimately make up the "big things". Your big picture can help you stay on track with your life and keep your daily life a little less routine and a little more meaningful. Think of the big picture as your goals, and the little things as the steps you take towards your goals. You’re closing the gap between what you truly believe in and taking action!
Let's take this blog for example, I tend to become inspired to write on airplanes. The change in perspective and situation gets my brain going and active. Now I can't possibly fly every week just to get inspired to write, so I found other similar activities, like hiking, to recreate that same elevated experience I get when I fly. Blogging contributes to my passion for writing and sharing knowledge, which contributes to my over all goal of helping people thrive in their lives.
Now it’s your turn, I gave you my example- now it's time for you to get out there, get your brain active, and start considering your big picture and what you can do in every day life to contribute to it!
P.S. Another passion of mine is music, so I'm going to start sharing the songs I listen to as I write these blog posts.
This week’s music is brought to you by, Last of the Easy Riders- Travelin' Spirit
